New EGH Record Underway (video update)

EGH recording follow-up to “It’s About Time”
Charlie, Ernesto Homeyer (guitar) and new bass player Justin Apergis wrapped up a successful day one at Ultimate Rhythm Studios.
The new record will pick up where 2002’s “It’s About Time” left off but will feature much more dynamic and intricate instrumental arrangements while still remaining true to the bands “live” feel.
Bucking current musical trends the band is capturing complete takes as opposed to recording all their parts separately.
“We want it to sound like we are all in the same room recording at the same time. So that’s what we are doing, recording in the same room at the same time. There is just a different energy when you’re in the same room playing together.”
If you are a fan of instrumental music then you’re going to be in for a treat! The release date has yet to be set but will be sometime this fall. We’ll keep you updated! You can get your own copy of “It’s About Time” Here (if you haven’t already).
Charlie is pretty darn excited so he recorded a video update. There are a few photos as well.

I love the fact that you are doing your takes as a “band”. That is so rare these days. Sometimes I think about that line from “American Pie” - ‘…the day the music died…”. I’m not sure when it happened (maybe it was Buddy Holly’s plane crash) but a lot of the overproduced crap out there isn’t really music, at least the way I grew up.
