3 Hours of Rehearsal = A Lot of Jam!
Yesterday we did our only rehearsal with Adrian Galysh for the Shredstock Tour. 3 hours of straight playing to rehearse a 45 minute set and all in all it went pretty well. For not playing these songs in two years I was surprised how much I remembered. There are only a couple of his new songs that I haven’t played before so I had charts for a couple of tunes but that was it. I have a few things to brush up on before Tuesdays gig and I should have the new tunes memorized so I don’t have to read on the gigs. Not that the charts are complicated, they are more of a guide, but I’d rather enjoy playing than have to read anything.
As a whole the band sounds great! Everyone is a top notch player and genuinely nice people too. This makes the entire experience much more enjoyable and will also make this a successful tour. I’m looking forward to getting started on Tuesday night at the Baked Potato. It’s been a while since I’ve played there so it’s going to e a lot of fun. If you haven’t seen a show at Baked Potato it’s an absolute must! It’s very intimate and there is no bad seat in the house!
I’m going to try and keep a daily update going while we’re on the road. Not sure about our driving times and if I’ll have internet everywhere but I have my iPhone so I can at least get some short posts up.
If your in the area of one of the shows I encourage you to come out. Not only will it be a could show but it’s fun to meet new people!
