The Last Gig of the Shredstock Tour is Over

Well the Shredstock Tour of 2008 has officially come to a close. We played our last show tonight at Hertlein Guitars in Dublin, CA. It was a cool show to end the tour on because we didn’t play a traditional venue or a bar or pub. This show was more of a show/clinic kind of thing so it was very relaxed. We played great, as always, and had a chance to hang out with the other bands as well as the staff at Hertlein Guitars. Like I said, it was a great way to end the tour.
Since this show had a clinic vibe to it there was a chance for those in attendance to ask questions and have a little more interaction with the bands. Not that there wasn’t interaction at the other shows but at this show there weren’t any drunk lunatics to deal with. He set up at Hertlein Guitars is great too. They have a great little stage and a nice PA for the bands and an awesome lounge area for people to sit and enjoy the show. The couches were so comfortable I wanted to take one home!
Even though we have been on the road the last week with 2 other bands there hasn’t really been a lot of time to hang out. Sounds impossible doesn’t it? Considering the fact that we all travelled in separate vehicles, stayed at different hotels, travelled at different times, showed up to the venue at different times, played at different times and left the venue after the show at different times it’s pretty easy not have much contact with anyone in the other bands. So tonight it was a lot of fun getting to sit and chat with everyone, take a bunch of photos and exchange email addresses and phone numbers. The crew at Hertlein had a bunch of great snacks (I think I ate most of it myself) and drinks so we did 5 days of band bonding in a couple of hours. It was fun. I made some cool new friends and finally had a chance to sit and chat with Ron the drummer for Esseness Project. He’s a great guy and has some sick ass feet!
It was a great night to say the least. Right now it’s about 2am and we have another 50 or so miles to our hotel. Then tomorrow we have a out about a 3 or 4 hour drive home. We can sleep in a bit, hopefully.
Good night..
